2010 Keynote Speaker: Bill
Easum on "LEADERSHIP IN A WILD CARD WORLD"
Bill Easum is the founder of 21st Century Strategies in 1987. Their goal is to equip Christians for global impact. Their work is church consulting, coaching, speaking, and futuring. 21st Century Strategies consultants have worked in more than 1,000 congregations in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand from under a 100 to over 10,000 in worship. "We know how to help churches go to the next level and reach your God-given potential. We are used to seeing churches have explosive growth."

Books by Bill Easum: About Bill Easum: "Bill has taught me much about the kingdom of God and how to plug into
its power and future direction. He is a one of the foremost thinkers in
Church today in the area of seeing the future of the Church. He helps to
prepare me and our people to walk in step with the Spirit’s direction.
That’s not only important – it’s vital to our health!... Bill Easum is an
incredible gift from God to the Church today.... The best thing about Bill
is that he has answers and suggestions that have accessible handles on them.
He is, above all else, a super practical guy. I will consult closely with
Bill for the rest of my life. " "I always look forward to the latest findings of Easum and Bandy. It's
hard to think of anyone who does a better job of offering relevant help to
established churches." "Bill Easum is in touch with the pulse of the culture and an interpreter
of the culture to the local church. He is an expert guide in healthy ministry
models and organizational development and a great sounding board for exploring
new ideas." From Bill Easum's writings: "Price Waterhouse did a study on team based leadership more than a
decade ago and their conclusion was it was the quality of the leader that
determined the quality of the team. Put a great leader in the team and the team
became great. Put a mediocre leader in the same team and the team became
mediocre." "Now the question I think you should be asking is “How do I empower
the congregation to share in the mission of the church? That is a totally
different question, one that will grow healthy, thriving congregations that have
the potential to reproduce themselves.” "Today, in the U.S., we are called to be “back yard
missionaries” to our networks.... Missionaries have to do three things to
reach a strange and new culture. They have to learn a new language, culture, and
technology. We understand the need for a missionary to learn Chinese if they are
going to China. We also understand the need to not shake hands if you are
a missionary to Japan. We also understand if we are in the backwoods of
somewhere we don’t whip out our PowerPoint. "The same is true in the U.S. to reach the new emerging world we have to
think and act differently. We have to learn a new language (Rock n Roll); we
have to learn a new culture (causal and post-Christian); and we have to learn a
new technology (digital). We have to become back yard missionaries." Outstanding musicians will be a highlight of the Annual Leadership Training. Richard Mekdeci will perform to open the Friday night and Saturday morning sessions with music for the entire assembly. He will present specialized workshops for music directors and music volunteers in breakout sessions. On Saturday after lunch, Lytingale and the Unitic Band from the Unity Center in Mills River will present a short concert. Ministers are encouraged to let their music directors know about this outstanding opportunity.
