2012 Keynote Speakers:

Rev. Sky St. John

Rev. Richard Levy

Sky St. John spent the majority of his adult life in Honolulu where he was a public school teacher for thirteen years before answering the call to become a Unity minister. He returned to Hawaii to the dynamic Unity Church of Hawaii in July 2005.

Sky also had a successful entertainment career, performing at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for fifteen years and producing several professional recordings. He became a Registered Nurse and worked for two years in the last existing leper colony in the United States, on the island of Molokai. After teaching nursing at the college level, Sky formed a nursing education company called "Operation Nightingale," training international nurses from all over the world.

He holds degrees in education, communications, nursing, with graduate work in Health Education and is A.B.D. (all but dissertation) for a Doctorate in Public Health. He was the builder and owner of a bed-and-breakfast on the Big Island of Hawaii until his call into ministry in 1994.

Graduating from Unity Seminary in 1995, he worked as a Minister in the Retreat Department at Unity Village for two years. During that time, he was also the Music Director for the first Unity World Conference and traveled throughout the country presenting workshops, concerts and Sunday services. Sky then spent the next five years in Omaha, Nebraska as the minister at Unity Church of Omaha, where they grew from a congregation of fifty to nearly five hundred. Their stated mission was: to realize our oneness with God and each other, and this is still a mantra for Sky.

Rev. Richard Levy’s spiritual path began in earnest in 1972 when, as he called to confirm his nonstop flight from New York to Miami, not knowing why, he changed his reservations to a flight that left from an airport that was further from his residence and had a stopover on its way. Upon arrival home, he learned that the flight that he was supposed to be on had crashed in the Everglades, killing everyone on board. He knew he had been saved by the grace of God, and that his life had a divine purpose. From that point on, his life became a spiritual quest.
This spiritual quest has taken Richard and his wife Maureen on many adventures, including living in spiritual communities, studying Edgar Cayce, Paramahansa Yogananda, A Course in Miracles, Science of Mind, Unity Truth and Principles, Vipassana meditation, Buddhist philosophy, and most recently a trip to India to the Oneness University.   Since returning from India, he and Maureen have integrated giving the Oneness Blessing into the Wednesday evening services.

Richard became a Unity minister in 1981 and has served in ministries in Seattle Washington, California, and Hawaii.  He also travels for his alternative ministry, Flexing Heart Ministry, which has a steady following who receive his bimonthly CDs. He is currently the senior minister at Unity in Wilmington NC.

Richard's primary goal as a minister and teacher is to bring into clear focus the Truth as taught through Unity Principles and other great universal teachings. He is well grounded in Metaphysical Bible interpretation, but his teachings also reflect his varied studies and lifelong experiences. His passion-filled, dynamic teaching style gives people the opportunity to own the truth for themselves, making it a part of their daily lives. His path is to journey.

Maureen has been at Richard’s side through all of their ministries.  Her primary work for over twenty years (besides being a mother) was as a midwife and in women’s health care.  She has now joined Richard in a full capacity in their ministry’s work. With Richard’s joyful, charismatic personality and Maureen’s practical approach to spirituality, they provide a perfect blend of balanced leadership. They are the proud parents of two adult daughters and their two grandchildren are the loves of their lives.  Richard and Maureen continue to deepen their spiritual practices on a daily basis.
